I’m not sure how I should feel about social media. I tend to post frequently on social media and at times I do get inspired and want to share good vibes. There is also the part that this is a forum for attracting likes and a following in order to promote myself and my business ventures.
I’m in no means a professional when it comes to making my social media accounts and websites, but I am a professional in my work. All my work has come through referrals and that, I take pride in and feel a sense of accomplishment. As for social media my followers have been those who have met me, who support me and cheer me on. It can be very frustrating and discouraging for new businesses to create a following and even more discouraging when you have to put all your focus on “catching someone’s eye” and having to make your website, blog or Facebook page look pretty. I’ve noticed the trend, and I have fallen victim of making things look good.
Here’s where I’m getting at, I want you to like me. I want you to follow me not because my page is pretty, or you want a like back and more followers, I want you to like me for who I am. We are all looking to create an external expression of ourselves through these social media platforms but we do not do things from a place of authenticity and it really discourages those who have a true gift or talent.
Truth be told, you do not need a fancy website, a pretty page, all you need is you. You will get told and suckered in by social media branding experts who can totally help you get into the space of creating and making things catchy. But from my personal experience (and this may piss some people off) I have met some really fantastic people who have had amazing websites and social platforms and yet their business is struggling and half of what they write about themselves is not true!! (sorry not sorry).
The reason why businesses suffer as much as they do, from an intuitive perspective is they lack their unique touch of energy: YOU. I had even forgotten that part of my work and only recently realized it once I cleared my space. I realized I needed me and my energy fuzed into my creative expression and my work.
So that got me thinking…how can I recreate a perspective that allows me to connect to the demographic that needs me.
Here is where I’m going to get into a little bit of how the universe works, like attracts like so it got me thinking…
Step 1. If my vibe attracts my like, how does my vibe feel like?
Stressed, overworked, financially stressed? Better shift that perspective quick and I don’t mean start thinking positive thoughts and vision boards like The Secret, but more realistic thoughts like ” have my needs been met?” “have I ever been without food?” “when I fail do pick myself up again?”
This type of thinking will get you in the “life can work in my favour” mode.
2. Stop trying to get a following and start connecting with your family and friends. Go out for tea date, coffee, lunches and talk, express and exchange. Connections are key to success, plus we already live in a world where others don’t trust others (sad to say but true).
3. Before you post anything on social platforms bless it! Send it love and let it go! Where’s your faith in yourself and in the universe? I would rather have that as my branding expert than listen to anyone’s limited perspective of how or what I should be doing with my creative expression.
Remember your passion is your truth and your vibe attracts everything.
During the last few weeks of being home in self isolation, I’ve been deepening my connection and listening through silent contemplation, the thoughts of the collective consciousness. The waves of silent emotions are overwhelming. I can feel the impact that loss of connection has created. That we created. Our busyness had already caused us to …
SHAME I often hear people say, “I just feel bad about myself all the time.” Shame has this tricky ability to keep you small in your emotions of guilt, loneliness and hopelessness. When shame creeps up, it’s a consuming feeling that can easily set you back into a spiral of addiction, unhealthy relationships and patterns. …
I have suffered and have asked God many times why do I need this? Why do I have to feel all this pain and the pain of others? Why would I need to have this experience? Does this make me wiser to seek more truths? Has this brought me to my current destination of healing …
I often get asked what is my daily practice, do I meditate or do I use Mantras or affirmations? I would like to share with you some of my daily Mantras and practices, that are easy to incorporate in day to day life. One thing I do not add to my practice is affirmations, …
